Dear fellow Scouts,

My name is Celso Menezes, I have been a member of the Scout Movement since I was 6 years old, having had the privilege of experiencing the Scout Method and its Educational Program throughout my childhood and youth.

When I turned 21, I chose to continue in the Scout Movement as a volunteer, collaborating with the education of other young people as a way of repaying all that the Scout Movement has given me. There is no doubt that the (positive) impact of Scout education has changed my life, allowing me to create/increase skills that are now my characteristics, such as proactivity, leadership, social and environmental responsibility, among others.

As a volunteer, I still work in the Scout unit (Tangará and Do Mar Acácia Scout Groups), having already worked at district, regional and national level. Internationally, I have collaborated by participating in Brazilian delegations at the World Conferences in Azerbaijan and Slovenia, the Inter-American Conference in Paraguay and as Assistant Contingent Leader at the Jamboree in South Korea. I also acted as program coordinator for JamCam and coordinator of the host team for the World Forum on Non-Formal Education, held in Rio de Janeiro. Between 2022 and 2023 I was part of the World Organization’s Financial Management Project, which, using the GSAT results as a basis, created specific training for the financial area, with a focus on training members of National Scout Organizations.

I currently work as a Consultant for the World Organization in the area of Governance.

I am a candidate for the World Committee because I believe that the knowledge acquired in my scouting experience, as well as my willingness to serve and collaborate, will be useful to World Scouting.

I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in this democratic and inclusive process. In the following pages, I’ll share some important experiences I’ve had in my Scouting life.
